chandrapur ,these are aid starved drought hit farmers as till date they have not received single
paisa as relief more over relief amount released by state Govt .for around 2
million west vidarbha of is only Rs.500 crore directing to administration to pay
only Rs.4500 per farmers as against average losses of cotton and soyabin more than Rs.45,000 per henctor amounting
Rs.25 thousand crore ,which is peanut will trigger more farm suicides in distressed
region ,Tiwari added
‘Govt. is til unmoved even
supreme court social bench headed by justice
Chief Justice H L Dattu an also
comprising Justices A K Sikri and R K Agrawal issued notice to Centre, Ministry
of Agriculture and Maharashtra Government seeking their responses on the
vidarbha agrarian issues asking Govt. to clear stand on issue
of immediate relief of Rs 25,000 per hectare of land from Maharashtra
Government to the drought-hit farmer families along with a complete or
reasonable waiver of crop loans to farmers and to Provide them 100-day wage
subsidy under Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA)
but both central and state Govt. failed to take serious note of apex court on
plight of dying farmers now as NHRC has considered in mass genocide of agrarian
community as freezing of human rights will have some impact to sensitize the
issue which is mostly related to policies of cost and banking credit and
promotion of wrong cash crop by states in dry land of vidarbha forcing them tp kill
themselves ‘Tiwari said .
