10 Farmers commit suicide in 3 days in Vidarbha-227 Farmers commit suicide in Yavatmal District alone this year-These are victims of the incompetence of the Hostile Government.

Kishore Tiwari, an activist of the farmers' movement, who kept a record of farmer suicides in Vidarbha since 1996, informed today .

This year, a record 1105 farmers have committed suicide in the first nine months of Vidarbha. This number will increase enormously from 1231 in 2006. Continuous heavy rains, barrenness, decline in production and administrative policies, depression and corruption are the reasons. In 2022, these farm suicide have increased tremendously due to continuous drought, heavy rains, infertile agriculture land , increased costs and reduction in production . Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknathrao Shinde's promise to make Maharashtra farmers suicide-free, Kishore Tiwari has demanded an immediate intervention by the Central Govt. to prevent the  daily farm suicides in Vidarbha. .

Among the 10 farmers who committed suicide in the last three days, 6 farmers from Yavatmal district are included. From the last 3 months, an average of 1 farmer is committing suicide in Yavatmal district. This year alone, 227 farmers have committed suicide in Yavatmal district. From the last three-four months, the government in Maharashtra has been almost in non-existentance. Kishore Tiwari has alleged that the situation has deteriorated due to the fact that no declared relief has not been paid  , new-old crop loan waiver is not being implemented , and officials from top to bottom are involved in taking bribe  wherever they can, while people's representatives are busy in rampant corruption .

Agrarian crisis increased due to uncontrolled cost of cultivation, prices of input agricultural commodities, fertility land lost and water quality, poor quality seeds .mono crop system ,drop in crops like food, pulses, oilseeds in dry lane areas and reforms in farm credit policies ,faculty company friendly crop insurance scheme .  Kishore Tiwari has demanded that the government should implement the Integrated save Farmer Program to address core issues of crisis. The policy as well as compensation for continuous barrenness and drought should be in the interest of the farmers should be  implemented immediately by stop ongoing farmers suicide in vidarbha.
