Agro-Chem. Industries claims on Pesticide Poisoning is Misleading -Kishore Tiwari

Agro-Chem. Industries claims on Pesticide Poisoning is Misleading -Kishore Tiwari

Dated -10th November 2017
Kishor Tiwari, chairman of the special task force constituted to tackle agrarian crisis in Maharashtra,The Vasantrao Naik Sheti Swawlamban Mission (VSSNM) has strongly objected the claim of the Crop Care Federation of India (CCFI) official forum of pesticides manufacturers in india that no pesticides can ever kill anyone due to inhalation. "This is completely untrue as per reports of WHO all Organophosphorus pesticides self-poisoning is an important clinical problem in rural regions of the India  and kills an estimated 200 000 people every year in region of southeast asia and africa as this is a  problem in places where highly toxic organophosphorus pesticides are available. Medical management is difficult, with case fatality is very high hence we demand to ban all  highly toxic organophosphorus pesticides (WHO Class-I toxicity)in cotton growing region of Maharashtra" Tiwari urged GOI.
'I can understand the logic behind argument of CCFI being a body of the Indian Agro Chemicals Industry to safeguard their commercial interests but truth behind   the 43 deaths of farmers and farm labourers and illness of more than 800 reported from Yavatmal  and vidarbha is known to the world" tiwari said objecting the arguments of Crop Care Federation of India (CCFI) in a submission to the Special Investigation Team (SIT) ,terming the it as attempt to divert its focus from the fact and to influence the investigations.
we are confidant that no such submission will have  any way influence on  the investigations of SIT as CM of Maharashtra Mr.Devendra Fadnavis has clarified that he will take this issue to its logical conclusion so that no innocent farmers and farm labourers are killed by organophosphorus pesticides poisoning in future ,Tiwari said .
Tiwari has drawn attention of Crop Care Federation of India (CCFI) to the fact that not single Indian Agro Chemicals Industry has provided any protection kit and antidote medicine moreover not single training camp was conducted  till Yavatmal strategy is reported. All protocols laid down by indian authorities are being shown the dustbin thanks to corrupt implementing agencies ,It was Govt. Task force who brought this issue before the nation not the NGOs being blamed by CCFI as we want  environment friendly sustainable ,non toxic  & poison free farming and food to the society .
VSSNM chief  has asked for all  stakeholders discussion on  CCFI  claim that the toxicity arising from off-target air drift of the highly toxic pesticides spray mixture through dermal deposit will not be fatal to humans and differences of opinion over the reports that  43 blood samples analysed by Amravati lab showed no residues of pesticides and validity of clinical experts claim that  that administering the antidote atropine is the reason for absence of such pesticides residues in blood samples as core issue of innocent deaths are being diluted .
