CM urged to give Rs.500/quintal bonus on cotton Farmers in poll-bound as declared by  Gujarat

Maharashtra Agrarian Crisis management special task force chairman Kishor Tiwari  today welcome Gujrat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani decision for  special  relief to cotton growers in Gujarat by announcing  a bonus of Rs.500 per quintal over and above the minimum support price of Rs.4320.and after the additional bonus, the effective procurement price of cotton will touch Rs.4,820/quintal.
Now we are asking our Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis to follow the footstep his counterpart as cotton growers in his state are going through the very bad phase of time because Cotton acreage in the State stood at 50 lakh hectares, about 15 per cent higher  than the 35 lakh hectare normal acreage in the State due to massive bollworm attack and pesticide poisoning in farm suicide affected dryland region of vidarbha and marathwada  ,Maharashtra State government along with the Cotton Corporation of India will carry out the procurement process.Maharashtra is the second  largest producer of cotton in the country, followed by  Telangana , VNSSM Chief Kishor Tiwari  informed .

Due to recent attack of pest of  cotton farmers are under huge losses task force has moved special request to the government’s to follow the gujarat govt.decision of bonus over and above the MSP has been promised  by the PM to cotton farmers of region in 2014 parliamentary election ,Tiwari added.

VNSSM  chief has laso urged Maharashtra Chief Minister to arrange to start all procurement centres of CCI and marketing federation  as hostile babus are delaying it intentionally and distress sale below  MSP is reported in cotton growing  region of vidarbha and marathwada adding fuel to on going agrarian crisis.
